TAELLN411 LLN address adult language, literacy and numeracy
This unit is not designed for specialist LLN practitioners. It is a general awareness-raising unit that is designed to allow practitioners to answer a number of key questions that contribute to the quality of their training and assessment practice. These questions are:
The unit addresses language, literacy and numeracy issues within learning and assessment practice and specifies the competency required to recognise the language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) demands of training and assessment and tailor training and assessment to suit individual skill levels, including accessing relevant support resources. On completion of this unit of study, you will gain the skills and knowledge that trainers and assessors must possess to provide appropriate instruction and assessment to learners with language, literacy and numeracy needs within their vocational program, drawing on the expertise of relevant professionals as required.
In April 2016 the unit TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills was added to the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as a core unit.
This means for current VET trainers and assessors to work as a trainer in the VET sector you must hold at least the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or it's successor TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
In anticipation of these changes Pro-System included the unit TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy as an elective in the qualification TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment FROM July 2014.
Participants who have completed TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with Pro-System Training PRIOR to July 2014 will be required to complete the unit TAELLN411 Address Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills to add to your set of training accreditations.
