What is CPR?

CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) is the combination of rescue breaths and chest compressions. CPR maintains the viability of the patient by oxygenating the blood with rescue breaths and providing artificial blood circulation with chest compressions until more advanced life support arrives i.e. defibrillator. It is recommended that refresher CPR training be completed every 12 months.

CPR Course Content

This course is comprised of three (3) elements:

  • Respond to signs of an unconscious casualty (e.g. assess vital signs of casualty)
  • Perform CPR (e.g. perform CPR in line with ARC Guidelines)
  • Communicate details of the incident (e.g. accurately convey details of casualty's condition and CPR procedures performed to emergency services/relieving personnel)

Participants will be required to demonstrate essential knowledge and skills necessary to effectively perform all tasks outlined in these elements.

Course Delivery Method

Face-to-face four (4) hour course: This course is delivered weekly alternative Fridays and Sundays from 8.30am. It includes both the theoretical and practical component. Please contact our office for group and onsite bookings
