What is the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program - Government subsidised training?

A Queensland Government funded program, the Certificate 3 Guarantee Program provides a Government subsidy towards the training costs for eligible participants undertaking an Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate Level III qualification.

Participant Eligibility

To be eligible, prospective participants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • be aged 15 years or above; and no longer at school (with the exception of VET in Schools (VETiS) students
  • permanently reside in Queensland
  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residence, or a New Zealand citizen
  • not hold, and not be enrolled in, a Certificate III or higher level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation training skills

Employment status does not matter - A participant can be unemployed and seeking work or working on a full-time, part-time or casual basis.

Co-Contribution Fee: Concession and non-concession holders $25

Concessional Participants are defined as follows:

  • The participant holds a Health Care concession card or Pensioner concession card issued under Commonwealth law, or is the partner or a dependant of a person who holds a Health Care concession card or Pensioner card, and is named on the card; or
  • The participant is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander person
  • Supporting evidence is required at the time of enrolment

Course Delivery Method

There are two (2) options available to you upon enrolment:

Option 1

Upon successful completion of this course participants will be awarded the CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations enabling them to apply for a Bodyguard Licence.

Face-to-face seven (7) day course: This course is conducted every three (3) weeks, Thursday to Thursday commencing at 8.30am and runs for approximately seven (7) hours each day. This program includes a variety of training and assessment methods including self paced study (pre/post course). This course is required to be completed within twelve (12) months of enrolment. The training is delivered by instructors with 'real life' experience in the security industry. People without prior industry experience are able to participate in this course. Participant contribution fee is $25.

Option 2

Upon successful completion of this course participants will be awarded the CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations AND a Statement of Attainment for 2 additional units completed enabling them to apply for a Bodyguard Licence and Security Guard/Crowd Controller Licence.

Face-to-face eight (8) day course: This course is conducted every three (3) weeks, Thursday to the following Friday commencing at 8.30am and runs for approximately seven (7) hours each day. This program includes a variety of training and assessment methods including self paced study (pre/post course). This course is required to be completed within twelve (12) months of enrolment. The training is delivered by instructors with 'real life' experience in the security industry. People without prior industry experience are able to participate in this course. Participant contribution fee is $25 and cost of the 2 x units is $40, making the total cost of the course $65.

Do you meet the eligibility criteria?

If you think you meet the eligibility criteria and would like to apply for enrolment, please follow the steps below:

  1. Contact Pro-System Training Services to make an interview appointment
  2. Bring along the following documents to your interview appointment:
    a.  Two forms of valid identification, such as Driver's Licence, 18+ card, Passport, Medicare Card
    b.  Evidence to support Concession application, such as Health Care concession card, Pensioner concession card, the participant is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person (if applicable)
  3. If your application is successful, you will be required to complete an enrolment form, and complete an LLN (Language, literacy and numeracy) test
  4. Pay your student contribution fee

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER: Each participant enrolling in a course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number to obtain their certificate or qualification when studying nationally recognised training in Australia. A USI gives you access to your online USI account which will help keep all your training records together. Certificates and Statements of Attainment cannot be issued without this number.
