The Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (VET) covers competencies required to deliver training and assessment services within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) within the VET sector. This could involve leading trainers and assessors, providing mentoring, and advising new trainers and assessors. The Diploma also covers design approaches to learning and assessment strategies across a significant area within the RTO. Participants in this course will develop skills in advanced facilitation practice, advanced assessment practice, professional practice and addressing language, literacy and numeracy.

Diploma of Training Design and Development TAE50216

The Diploma of Training Design and Development (TDD) covers competencies that reflect the roles of training developers and instructional designers. This is a qualification that is designed for those responsible for analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet workplace capability requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.

Course Content

Diploma of Training Design and Develoment TAE50216 comprises of five (5) core units and five (5) elective units:

  • TAEDES505    Evaluate a training program

  • TAEPDD501   Maintain and enhance professional practice
  • TAELLN501    Support the development of adult language, literacy and numeracy skills
  • TAERES501    Apply research to training and assessment practice

Entry Requirements

There are no formal prerequisite requirements for this qualification. However, it is strongly recommended that participants have a TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus vocational experience OR extensive experience in training and assessment roles in an RTO or similar organisation focusing on competency-based training and assessment.

Participants are encouraged to bring along their laptop computer or iPad to assist with the assessment process, however it is not a requirement.

Course Delivery Method

The Dual Diploma is a Face-to-Face ten (10) day course held during 2 x five (5) day block sessions, with up to 12 months to complete the self paced study. The five (5) day face to face blocks will be held approximately 1 month apart. This program includes a variety of training and assessment methods including evidence gathering, presentations, projects, case studies, written and oral questioning and self-paced study (the self paced study includes twenty (20) units to be completed within twelve (12) months of attendance of the ten day face to face delivery).Face to face courses are held from Monday to Friday commencing at 8.30am and runs for approximately eight (8) hours each day . The cost of the Dual Diploma is $2,395.

Enrolling in Single Diploma's

Participants have up to 12 months to complete the self paced delivery component of this course. The cost of this course is $1,795.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Diploma Courses -  RPL Application fee: Dual Diploma $2,395 and Single Diploma $1,495. Upon receipt of payment, a confirmation email will be sent with the RPL Kit attached for completion. This documentation must be completed and submitted within 2 months of booking. Once your RPL application is received, an assessor will evaluate it. The assessor will then contact you for a face-to-face meeting to discuss their findings and clarify any other issues. For more information on the RPL process, please contact our office.

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER:   Each participant enrolling in a course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number to obtain their certificate or qualification when studying nationally recognised training in Australia.  A USI gives you access to your online USI account which will help keep all your training records together.
