Assist with Claims Management, Rehabilitation and Return-To-Work Programs

This unit applies to individuals who assist with claims management, rehabilitation and return-to-work programs. Participants should be aware that the unit does not in any way address the process of treating the worker for their injury or illness with this being the task of trained health and rehabilitation professionals. The unit focuses on assisting the business with managing claims and ensuring that the organisation supports the worker through return-to-work programs.

This course comprises of the following unit:

  • BSBWHS407     Assist with claims management, rehabilitation and return-to-work programs

Required Skills

  • Communication skills and discretion to discuss compensation, treatment, rehabilitation and return-to-work matters sensitively with a range of people.
  • Consultation and negotiation skills to address issues around compensation, treatment, rehabilitation and return-to-work matters sensitively with a range of people.
  • Organisational and administrative skills to see that all claims are properly managed and that claimant is clear about what is happening and what to expect.
  • Planning skills to customise rehabilitation or return-to-work programs to suit injured workers.

This course applies to Employer Groups who require a trained employee to manage their existing and/or to implement a new rehabilitation and return to work program within their organisation. The course is also intended for individuals who want to develop new skills, or upgrade their current skills and understanding to effectively manage a rehabilitation program within a workplace.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for successful completion of BSBWHS407 in partial completion of the Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety BSB41415.

Course Delivery Method

Face-to-Face one (1) day course: This course is conducted once a month commencing at 8.30am and runs for approximately eight (8) hours. The cost of this course is $320.00

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER: Each participant enrolling in a course will need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number to obtain their certificate or qualification when studying  nationally recognised training in Australia.
