RSG - Responsible Service of Gambling SITHGAM006A


What is RSG?

It is mandatory for all people who carry out gaming duties or gaming tasks within a licensed venue in Queensland to hold a current RSG (Responsible Service of Gambling) certificate. The training provides gaming employees with skills to identify problem gambling and to provide intervention or information about gambling help services and counselling. Examples of those who carry out gaming duties include:

  • Eligible Licensees;
  • Gaming nominee or employee license holders; and
  • Any staff (licensed or unlicensed) carrying out gaming tasks, i.e. issuing or revoking exclusion orders regarding problem gamblers.

RSG Course Content

This course comprises of two elements:

  • Provide responsible service of gambling (e.g. follow responsible gambling service procedures according to relevant legislation and industry and enterprise policy or codes of conduct)
  • Provide information and assistance to customers about problem gambling (e.g. Provide accurate and appropriate information on problem gambling to customers on request)

Course Delivery Method

Face-to-face four (4) hour course: This course is conducted fortnightly on Mondays commencing at 2.30pm. The RSG course is delivered by a qualified trainer with 'real life' experience in the hospitality industry.

Online via video-conference four (4) hour course: This course is also conducted fortnightly on Monday commencing at 2.30pm. This delivery method allows participants to interact just as they would in a normal classroom with the ability to ask questions verbally or type on the chat screen. An OLGR approved Training Course Certificate and a Statement of Attainment are issued within forty-eight hours of successful completion of the course. Please contact our office for group bookings
