What is a White Card?
All people performing construction work in Australia must have successfully completed a safety induction - Work Safely in the Construction Industry course prior to commencing work. This is also known as the White Card course or White Card training. This induction training is a requirement under Work Health and Safety Regulations.
What is construction work?
Construction work means any work carried out in connection with the construction, alteration, conversion, fitting-out, commissioning, renovation, repair, maintenance, refurbishment, demolition, decommissioning or dismantling of a structure.
White Card Course Content
The Work Safely in the Construction Industry course is comprised of four(4) elements:

Identify OHS legislative requirements (e.g. duty of care requirements are identified)

Identify construction hazards and control measures (e.g. basic principles of risk management are applied)

Identify OHS communication and reporting process (e.g. safety signs and symbols are identified and explained) and
-
Identify OHS incident response procedures (e.g. procedures for assessing first aid are identified)
Course Delivery Method
Face-to-Face four (4) hour course: The course is available at our premises in a self-paced format at a computer every Monday and Wednesday. A trainer is on hand to assist participants, OR face-to-face in a training room environment on Friday.
Online: The online course can be accessed at any time from any computer with internet connection. With our online white card course you are offered the option of webcam verification of your identification and your participation in the course, alleviating the need to obtain the otherwise necessary declarations to confirm this, OR If you do not possess a webcam, you can still complete the course, however, you will be required to complete declarations confirming your identification and participation in the course prior to your card being issued. (We offer participants 28 days in which to complete this course online.)
